In the Baltics to promote Piedmont's wine heritage

Written by Alessandro Rivetto on 24 November 2016

On Wednesday, November 23 in the Bibliotēka №1Restorāns of Riga is the Riga Wine&Champagne Festival, one of the most important events for Champagne and fine wines in the Baltic States.

This year, the wines of the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato will be leading players during the first day of this annual festival for wine lovers, experts, and industry members.

For this special occasion, the association WineXperience, formed of producers who take part in organizing promotional events abroad, will present the different denominations of the Piedmont region to 100 people in the wine industry during a full schedule of events, including tastings, workshops, and a master-class.

The exclusive Riga event is supported by the Tourism Board of Alba Bra Langhe Roero, which has always been active in the promotion of Piedmont at the institutional level.

Alessandro Rivetto says:

“The Latvian market has good margins of growth, especially for Italian wines and medium to small-sized wineries. In Latvia, there is a lot of admiration and interest in Italian wine, but to take advantage of this trend it’s important to communicate the great diversity in terms of terroir. For this reason, we believe in the importance of the master-class, a guided tasting in which we will describe, in-depth, the territory and wine heritage of our region.”
