{"id":701,"date":"2016-11-04T09:27:17","date_gmt":"2016-11-04T08:27:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alessandrorivetto.langhe.net\/?p=701"},"modified":"2019-04-18T11:09:56","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T09:09:56","slug":"boston-where-everything-is-lobster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/701\/boston-where-everything-is-lobster\/","title":{"rendered":"Boston: where everything is\u2026 lobster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After returning from our last trip in the United States and Canada, we\u2019ve come back with a special fascination for the cities of <strong>Boston<\/strong> and Toronto.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, we encountered a few curiosities in the capital of Massachusetts that our<strong> foodie friends<\/strong> are sure to be interested in!<\/p>\n<p>Boston is one of the liveliest and most important cities of the USA\u2014it\u2019s not a coincidence it\u2019s called The Hub.<\/p>\n<p>It is a true bridge between America and Europe because of its <strong>cultural influences<\/strong> and for its trade, which has made this metropolis one of the biggest importers of Italian and non-Italian wine.<\/p>\n<div class=\"content__image size-full wp-image-715 aligncenter\"><div class=\"ratio\"><div class=\"ratio__content\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-715 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/boston.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"282\" height=\"179\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p>Contrary to what our usual stereotypes are about the<strong> eating habits<\/strong> of people in big American cities, we discovered a dining scene that was far from the trio of hamburgers, hot dogs, and French fries (though these are obviously not confined to USA, either).<\/p>\n<p>The cuisine of Boston is <strong>extraordinary<\/strong>! Other than its Italian and Irish influences, it has the good fortune to be able to fish from its ocean, teeming with life.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Boston has been famous for its <strong>lobster<\/strong> since the time of the Pilgrims.<\/p>\n<p>Lovers of <strong>\u201cgourmet\u201d street food<\/strong> can\u2019t miss a stop at the lobster shacks, the little shops where the fishermen serve steamed lobsters with melted butter and corn on the cob along the Waterfront.<\/p>\n<p>For those who are looking for a restaurant experience, we\u2019d recommend a visit to the<strong> historic districts Back Bay and Beacon Hill<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll find more than lobster in Boston. Expect to taste a huge variety of oysters, crustaceans, and <strong>seafood<\/strong> at good prices. It was enough to make us aficionados of this beautiful city built to human scale.<\/p>\n<p>For now, we\u2019ll leave behind talk of these seafood treasures\u2014not an easy thing to do\u2014and return to the topic of <strong>wine<\/strong>, something we love to talk about.<\/p>\n<p>After giving several in-depth seminars on <strong>Piedmont wine<\/strong>, we realized we were in a city that displays great interest and curiosity for everything about the wine world, notwithstanding its reputation as a beer-loving city.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the annual Boston Wine Expo is held here, one of America\u2019s most important wine festivals dedicated to the world of wine and food for buyers and consumers.<\/p>\n<p>During the tastings, we interacted with a public that had a very open mind, ready to discover new wines. They were highly appreciative of the great <strong>Barolo<\/strong> and <strong>Barbaresco<\/strong> labels, but not entirely focused on them.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the wines that garnered the most appreciation were Langhe Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and\u2014of course\u2014Barolo.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll hazard a summary of the tasting and say that the overall preference was towards strong and intensely fruity wines with <strong>good tannic structure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"content__image size-full wp-image-709 aligncenter\"><div class=\"ratio\"><div class=\"ratio__content\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-709 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Lobster-party.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Lobster-party.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Lobster-party-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p>And in a city where lobster abounds, we couldn\u2019t leave behind our new <strong>Langhe Nascetta Albori<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After returning from our last trip in the United States and Canada, we\u2019ve come back with a special fascination for the cities of Boston and Toronto.
