{"id":687,"date":"2016-10-20T09:19:23","date_gmt":"2016-10-20T07:19:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alessandrorivetto.langhe.net\/?p=687"},"modified":"2019-04-18T11:09:56","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T09:09:56","slug":"a-harvest-for-the-next-generation-of-enologists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/687\/a-harvest-for-the-next-generation-of-enologists\/","title":{"rendered":"A harvest for the next generation of enologists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <strong>Barolo from Serralunga d&#8217;Alba<\/strong> goes to school.\u00a02016 was a truly special vintage for our winery.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did the grapes ripen perfectly, a sign that our wines will be <strong>rich in aromas and structure<\/strong>, but this year we will take part in an exciting initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the nebbiolo harvested from the municipality of Serralunga d&#8217;Alba that is usually reserved for the production of our <strong>most prestigious Barolo labels<\/strong> will be part of this new venture.<\/p>\n<p>A former teacher of Alessandro, Professor Vincenzo Barbaro, requested grapes for an <strong>educational project<\/strong> for the prestigious School of Enology of Alba (where Alessandro himself graduated).<\/p>\n<p>We provided him with<strong> several quintals<\/strong> of these precious grapes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"content__image size-full wp-image-695 aligncenter\"><div class=\"ratio\"><div class=\"ratio__content\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-695 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Alba-Scuola-Enologica.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Alba-Scuola-Enologica.jpg 700w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Alba-Scuola-Enologica-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Alba-Scuola-Enologica-600x600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/04\/Alba-Scuola-Enologica-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p>We will be collaborating to give one of their most promising students the chance to <strong>vinify a great Barolo di Serralunga<\/strong> and compare it to the wines that are already traditionally produced by the School of Enology and by alumni working in vineyards in Grinzane Cavour.<\/p>\n<p>We can&#8217;t wait to go &#8220;back to school&#8221;, see the old classrooms and immerse ourselves in the familiar atmosphere, <strong>working alongside the next wine generation<\/strong> and with several well-known, not quite so fresh-faced friends.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll get to taste the results of our collaboration in <strong>2020<\/strong>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Barolo from Serralunga d&#8217;Alba goes to school.\u00a02016 was a truly special vintage for our winery.
