{"id":2355,"date":"2019-11-13T14:55:08","date_gmt":"2019-11-13T13:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/?p=2355"},"modified":"2019-11-18T10:29:51","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T09:29:51","slug":"conquering-east-coast-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/2355\/conquering-east-coast-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Conquering the american East Coast &#8211; first part"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One can almost say that I&#8217;ve travelled the whole world, but there&#8217;s something about the american East Coast that always calls me back, that fits perfectly with our wines.<\/p>\n<p>It definitively has to do with that italian-american culture that makes New York feel like a second home, but I think it&#8217;s also thanks to the ideals we share: the constant search for the highest quality, but at the same time for what&#8217;s genuine and traditional.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, each trip in this area allows us to reach a broader public, made of people who often times end up coming to visit us in La Morra.<\/p>\n<h3>First stop &#8211; New York: \u201cgreen\u201d stay in the Big Apple<\/h3>\n<p>There&#8217;s no trip to <strong>NYC<\/strong> that isn&#8217;t worth the travel: a few days in the city were enough to be so stimulated and <strong>full of new contacts<\/strong> to allow me to start with great entusiasm. There was also a lot of hard work tho: I can say it has been a <strong>&#8220;green&#8221; stop<\/strong>, since the crazy traffic of <strong>Manhattan<\/strong> forced me to reduce pollution by travelling by foot!<\/p>\n<div class=\"content__image aligncenter size-landscape-lg wp-image-2367\"><div class=\"ratio\"><div class=\"ratio__content\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-landscape-lg wp-image-2367\" src=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.23-1400x875.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1400\" height=\"875\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.23-1400x875.jpeg 1400w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.23-900x563.jpeg 900w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.23-550x344.jpeg 550w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1400px) 100vw, 1400px\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h3>Tarallucci e Vino: &#8220;The different expressions of the Nebbiolo grape&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>We had already given you a sneak peak in our previous <a href=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/2270\/the-different-expressions-of-the-nebbiolo-grape-new-york-october-10th\/\">blog<\/a>: the first appointment in New York brought me between the 18th and Union Square, to the casual chic context of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.taralluccievino.net\/#home01\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tarallucci e Vino<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve been well know in NYC since 2001 for their italian authenticity, and they didn&#8217;t do any less with this event dedicated to the different expressions of Nebbiolo, with 5 courses paired with Alessandro Rivetto wines. We tasted: <a href=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/wine\/langhe-nascetta-doc-albori\/\">Nascetta \u201817<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/wine\/langhe-nebbiolo-doc\/\">Langhe Nebbiolo \u201817<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/wine\/barbaresco-docg\/\">Barbaresco \u201815<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/wine\/barolo-docg-comune-serralunga-alba\/\">Barolo Serralunga \u201813<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/en\/wine\/moscato-asti-docg\/\">Moscato d\u2019Asti \u201818<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After a convivial and stimulating evening with sector operators, but also curious passers &#8211; in which I&#8217;ve made plenty of contacts with<strong> new importers<\/strong> captivated by the presentation &#8211; the owner of Tarallucci surprised us with a delicatessen: a wonderfully aged <strong>Barolo Serralunga \u201810<\/strong>, that got us a <strong>standing ovation<\/strong> \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<div class=\"content__image aligncenter size-landscape-lg wp-image-2373\"><div class=\"ratio\"><div class=\"ratio__content\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-landscape-lg wp-image-2373\" src=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.20-1400x875.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1400\" height=\"875\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.20-1400x875.jpeg 1400w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.20-900x563.jpeg 900w, https:\/\/alessandrorivetto.it\/files\/2019\/11\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-10-24-at-10.33.20-550x344.jpeg 550w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1400px) 100vw, 1400px\" \/><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<h3>New accounts between Broadway and New Jersey<\/h3>\n<p>Our wines keep moving to new trendy places, landing in two new worthy contexts: they&#8217;ll now be on the wine list of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilmulino.com\/prime\/soho\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Il Mulino Prime<\/a>\u201d, the exceptional steakhouse by Michele Mazza in the heart of SoHo, paired with the best cuts of aged meat of Broadway.<\/p>\n<p>On the other side of Hudson you can now taste our wines in the high end setting of the\u00a0\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alpinecc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alpine Country Club<\/a>\u201d of <strong>New Jersey<\/strong>, where between on golf game an the other the members can now have a glass of our Barolo.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;] Continue in the next blog!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One can almost say that I&#8217;ve travelled the whole world, but there&#8217;s something about the american East Coast that always calls me back, that fits perfectly with our wines.
